A Budget Baby Shower Without the Budget Look




You are hosting a baby shower but don't have a lot of money to spend. Don't worry. You don't need to spend a lot to get a look that wows. Check out these tips for ways to host a baby shower that will have will have your friends talking and keep your pocket book happy.

Looking to get some party and decor supplies for cheap? Consider getting supplies at the dollar store. These days, the quality of items at the dollar store has gone up. You can get supplies for cheaper than the local party supply store and most of the larger chain dollar stores will have a pretty good variety of party supplies ranging from printed napkins and plates to other baby shower decor items. There is no need to spend a lot of money on items that will probably not see much repeated use.

Another great way to save money is to find decorations that can also double as gifts. Doing this can save on the money spent on other decor items. Use baby items like onsies, socks and bibs clothes pinned to twine to create a unique banner or streamer. The items in the streamer not only make for unique decor, but at the end of the shower, the mama-to-be can take the items home as gifts!


Consider getting one statement piece and using less expensive decorative items to help fill in the details. Need to feed a lot of people on a tight budget? Consider hosting the shower at times in-between main meals. Doing this allows you to have appetizers and hors d'oeuvres instead of a large meal while still providing food for your guests. Buying the ingredients in bulk will also help save some money.
